A man in Dnipro was suspected of stealing fishing gear worth nearly 150,000 hryvnias, according to local police.

A 29-year-old man, who has been repeatedly convicted of property crimes, stole fishing equipment from the storage facility of an acquaintance.

The crime occurred in early January in the Samarsky district of the city. A man invited his acquaintance to a room where he stored fishing gear. After waiting for the owner to fall asleep, the thief seized the opportunity and took away valuable belongings.

Criminal police operatives from police station No. 1 of the Dnipro district police department No. 2 tracked down and apprehended the criminal. He turned out to be a 29-year-old resident of a neighboring region, who had previously been convicted of committing criminal offenses.

The investigators informed the man of the suspicion under part 4 of Article 185 (theft committed under martial law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty for the crime is up to 8 years of imprisonment. On February 21, the investigators submitted the indictment to the court.
