A man has been arrested in Zaporizhzhia on suspicion of murdering an elderly woman nearly 25 years ago.
According to the investigation, in August 2000, a 14-year-old boy conspired with a man he barely knew and, driven by selfish motives, murdered an elderly woman.
Taking advantage of the victim's trust, the suspect and his accomplice entered her apartment. There, in order to suppress any resistance, they bound her and taped her mouth shut. They subsequently strangled her and stole new textile products worth 3900 UAH.
The suspect's identity was established thanks to matching fingerprints he left during the commission of another criminal offense in the Mykolaiv region.
