In Pokrov, police apprehended two teenagers who, at the request of Russia, set fire to a military vehicle and a relay cabinet.

On September 7, a military Peugeot vehicle and a civilian car were set on fire in the city of Pokrov. On September 13, unknown individuals ignited a relay cabinet along the railway line. Police examined the crime scenes and collected physical evidence, which underwent a series of expert analyses. During the investigation, law enforcement officials inspected local businesses where the arsonists might have obtained incendiary materials, interviewed potential witnesses, and reviewed surveillance footage.

As a result of the conducted measures, the police identified that two 16-year-old minors from the Nikopol district were involved in the crimes. During the commission of the latest offense, one of the boys sustained burns to his face and hands and sought medical assistance at a hospital.

It was revealed that one of the accomplices received a message on Telegram offering to earn money by painting Russian symbols on buildings. The teenager agreed and involved his friend in the crime. Together, they purchased a spray can and defaced a monument and the walls of buildings. They subsequently received instructions to commit arson and began working on behalf of Russian special services.

On September 17, law enforcement conducted a sanctioned search at the residences of the suspects. Investigators seized mobile phones, bank cards, a can with remnants of black paint, clothing and shoes with traces of flammable materials, and other physical evidence, which have been included in the materials of the criminal proceeding.

A series of serious crimes aimed at obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were stopped by investigators and operatives of Police Department No. 2 of the Nikopol District Police, in collaboration with the criminal analysis sector and employees of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Under the procedural guidance of the Nikopol District Prosecutor's Office, the enemy's accomplices have been notified of suspicion under part 2 of Article 194 (intentional destruction or damage to property) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. They are also expected to be informed of suspicion under part 1 of Article 114-1 (obstruction of lawful activities of the Armed Forces and other military formations). They face up to ten years in prison.
