The press service of the Main Department of the National Police in the Dnipropetrovsk region reported this.
On Saturday, December 21, around 5:00 PM, a call was received on the "102" hotline about a possible murder that had occurred in an apartment on Knyazha Street in Nikopol.
In the building's entrance, law enforcement officers discovered blood traces and, upon entering the apartment, found the victim's body showing no signs of life. The perpetrator was present at the crime scene, and he was immediately detained while a forensic team was called to document the incident.
It was established that on that day, around 1:00 PM, a conflict occurred between the apartment owner and his acquaintance, during which the suspect retrieved his knife from the bedroom and stabbed the victim three times. The man succumbed to his injuries.
Law enforcement collected physical evidence at the scene and apprehended the 67-year-old assailant, who had previously been convicted in 2024 for causing serious bodily harm to another person.
On December 22, the assailant was informed of the suspicion under Part 1 of Article 115 (intentional murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces up to 15 years in prison.
