Misappropriation of state property: The Bureau of Economic Security has announced suspicions against the deputy director of the Dnipro City Council's utility company.

It has been established that, using funds allocated under the Program for Supporting Territorial Defense in the city of Dnipro for the years 2022-2026, an official entered into contracts for the purchase of radio technical equipment at significantly inflated prices.

This was reported by the press service of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine.

During the procurement process, several violations of the requirements of the Laws of Ukraine "On Public Procurement" and "On Defense Procurement" were identified. Subsequently, the municipal enterprise received over 120 sets of equipment and other supplies, transferring more than 6 million UAH to the accounts of a private company. Later, similar contracts were signed again, this time for 628 sets of equipment. The total estimated cost of the two procurements amounted to 25 million UAH, which was nearly 9.2 million UAH higher than the market average.

Currently, the official has been notified of suspicion for committing a crime as stipulated in part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (misappropriation of someone else's property that was under their control, through the abuse of office by an official, in conditions of martial law, in particularly large amounts). The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
