A report of the crime was received from alarmed residents of the dormitory in the Industrial District of the city at the end of December last year.

After receiving the suspect's description, the operatives of the criminal police department of the Dnipro district police № 2 apprehended the suspect and seized a firearm from him. He turned out to be a previously convicted local resident.

The police investigators informed the man of his suspicion under Part 1 of Article 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition, or explosive substances) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The investigators completed the pre-trial investigation regarding the individual and on January 23, they sent the indictment to court.
