$12K for a military commission certificate: Authorities in Dnipro have arrested a lawyer.

According to the investigation, the lawyer promised to influence officials from the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCRC) and the Military Medical Commission (MMC) in order to secure a declaration that the conscript was unfit for military service, which would allow him to travel abroad.

After receiving an unlawful benefit of 12,000 USD, the lawyer was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

During a search of the suspect's vehicle, military registration documents for three conscripted individuals were found, bearing the resolutions of current TCC leaders and an official seal, as well as the funds received as an unlawful benefit.

The lawyer has currently been placed in custody with the option to post a bail of 500,000 UAH.

Investigative actions are underway within the criminal proceedings, and the involvement of TCC employees in this criminal offense is being verified.

The Dnipro Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Defense Sector of the Eastern Region has notified the acting lawyer of suspicion of abuse of influence (part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
