February has brought frosts and snowfalls to Ukraine. However, this week, some regions of the country will be enveloped by fog.
This is evidenced by the forecasts from the meteorological site Ventusky. The fog is approaching Ukraine starting Thursday, February 13. On this day, it will cover the eastern regions, including Kharkiv, Sumy, Rivne, and parts of other areas in Ukraine. The fog zones are marked in olive color on the map.
The following day, Friday, February 14, the fog will dissipate slightly, but it will still cover certain areas. The most extensive fog will be in Rivne region and parts of the southern part of the country.
As a reminder, during the second decade of February, relatively cold weather with severe frosts will prevail in Ukraine. The reason for these cold temperatures is a stagnant anticyclone that will affect a large portion of Eastern and Northern Europe. Precipitation will be minimal, and only on February 14-15 will a cold front from the northwest bring light, and locally moderate snow and sleet to most regions. There will be icy conditions on the roads, with some areas experiencing snow drifts.
Earlier, "Telegraph" reported that on January 23, a dense fog covered Ukraine. The landscapes resembled scenes from fantasy films.
