Sometimes, the brigade's insignia features symbols that signify whom the brigade is named after or a mythical guardian beast, along with the combat history of the unit. This is exactly the case with the 45th Artillery Brigade.

It was established back in 2016. Three years later, extensive exercises were conducted involving one and a half thousand soldiers. By the time of the full-scale invasion, the brigade consisted of only 52 servicemen and was classified as a professional unit. Thanks to prior training, the brigade was mobilized exceptionally quickly and began defending the state.

The brigade's combat baptism took place in Zaporizhzhia. This is why the brigade's shoulder insignia features a Cossack cannon, which essentially represents the artillery of that era. Its affiliation with artillery forces is also reflected in the red background of the insignia. As for the crowned golden lion, it symbolizes Lviv Oblast – the place of the brigade's formation and deployment. This unit of missile troops and artillery of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is based in the Yavoriv district of Lviv region.

The brigade participated in the Kharkiv and Kherson operations, as well as fierce battles across various fronts:

  • Zaporizhzhia (Huliaipole, Orikhiv),
  • Donetsk (Bakhmut, Soledar, Chasiv Yar),
  • Luhansk (Lysychansk, Severodonetsk, Kreminna).

In the fall of 2024, the 45th Separate Artillery Brigade of the 11th Army Corps of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was honored with the title "named after General Myron Tarnavskyi". The unit is named in honor of the outstanding Ukrainian general from the First Liberation Movements.

Previously, "Telegraph" reported on the symbolism of the 92nd Brigade. The colors indicate its deployment in the Kharkiv region, while the rifles on the insignia represent the Ukrainian Cossacks.
