Explosions were heard in Kyiv and several regions: here's what we know about the nighttime attack on Ukraine.

On the night of January 12, during an air raid alert in Ukraine, explosions were heard in the Kyiv region. This was linked to the threat of enemy ballistic missiles and drones.

The Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported that explosions were audible in the city during the alert. They noted that this was the work of air defense,

"Movement of enemy drones detected! Air defense forces are active in the region. Do not photograph or film the actions of our defenders," — the statement said.

At the same time, Russian drones were spotted over the following regions:

  • Kyiv;
  • Cherkasy;
  • Sumy;
  • Kharkiv.

Where the explosions occurred

According to monitoring data, explosions were reported in the following regions:

  • Kyiv;
  • Kropyvnytskyi;
  • Dnipropetrovsk;
  • Poltava;
  • Kharkiv;
  • Khmelnytskyi.

Shortly before this, there were reports of a drone attack threat.

Recall that earlier, "Telegraf" reported that at least three explosions occurred in Kryvyi Rih on January 9. The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine preliminarily reported a missile threat and the approach of fast-moving targets towards the city. It later became known that air defense shot down three Iskander-K cruise missiles.
