U.S. President Joe Biden, who will soon hand over the reins of the country to his successor Donald Trump, stated that he believes there is a real chance for Ukraine to win the war against Russia. He reached this conclusion after his conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on January 10.
"As long as we keep Western Europe united, there is a real chance that the Ukrainians can win. Because the cost for Russia is incredibly high, over 600,000 dead and wounded. The Koreans they brought also have a high mortality rate. And I made it very clear that I have provided all the necessary resources that I was authorized to provide as president. And I know that there is a significant number of Democrats and Republicans who believe we should continue to support Ukraine", — stated the U.S. president during a speech in Washington.
Biden emphasized that it is crucial to prevent Russian President Vladimir Putin from getting a breather. In that case, he would regain strength and continue his aggression against Ukraine.
"He has economic problems, significant economic problems, as well as political issues within the country", – Biden added.
As reported by "Telegraph," the Pentagon confirmed that despite all its promises, the Biden administration will not be able to provide Ukraine with all the promised military aid by Trump's inauguration. At least $3.8 billion in aid to Ukraine will be left as a "legacy" for the new administration.
