On Sunday, January 12, Russians launched airstrikes on a children’s rehabilitation center in Sumy. A fire erupted on the premises of the facility.

This was reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service in the Sumy region and the Telegram channel of the Sumy Regional Military Administration. The residential sector of the city was also affected by the enemy shelling.

According to preliminary information, there were no casualties. Rescuers indicated that they had to respond to multiple locations simultaneously.

"The sources of the fire have been extinguished. The areas affected by the strikes have been examined," the State Emergency Service noted.

Videos and photos of the aftermath of the attack have also been released. The Sumy Regional Military Administration clarified that the fire at the rehabilitation center occurred due to debris from a Russian drone falling.

"Preliminarily, there are no casualties. All necessary services are working at the site, and the consequences of the attack are being assessed," the administration stated.

Earlier, "Telegraph" inquired with a military expert about why Russia launches drones so low. Military-political analyst Dmitry Snegirev also outlined potential countermeasures.
