Under any circumstances? Trump announced that Ukraine has agreed to grant access to rare earth metals.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Ukraine has agreed to grant the United States access to its rare earth metal reserves valued at $500 billion as compensation for the military assistance provided.

According to Trump, the U.S. should gain access to Ukraine's natural resources regardless of the outcomes of the Russian-Ukrainian war and any potential peace agreements. The newly elected U.S. president mentioned this in an interview with Fox News.

"They can reach an agreement. They may not come to terms. They might become 'Russian' or not, but our money is there. And I say I want to get it back," the former president emphasized.

Trump highlighted that further unconditional aid to Ukraine contradicts U.S. interests. In his view, Washington should receive material compensation for the support rendered.

Rare earth elements consist of 17 metals with unique physical and chemical properties. These include scandium, yttrium, lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium, neodymium, promethium, samarium, europium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, holmium, erbium, thulium, ytterbium, and lutetium.

These metals are widely used in electronics manufacturing, including smartphones, computers, and electric vehicles. They are also essential for producing permanent magnets used in wind turbines, electric motors, and other modern technologies.

Significant deposits of rare earth metals have been discovered in Ukraine, particularly in the Azov region and Polissya. Experts assess Ukraine's potential for extracting these elements as one of the largest in Europe.

Previously, "Telegraph" also reported that people are joking online about the U.S.'s desire to extract resources from Ukraine. Internet users suggest that the U.S. could adopt a rather tough stance regarding access to natural resources.
