On December 6, the "Ukroboronprom" concern unveiled the long-range rocket drone "Peklo". It is claimed that the weapon has already been used to strike against Russians. The first batch has already been delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It was officially announced that the range of "Peklo" is up to 700 km, and its speed is up to 700 km/h. Experts from the defense portal "Defense Express" took a closer look at the published images and added several important details.
Firstly, experts emphasize that this is not a drone, but a smaller-sized cruise missile. The dimensions of "Peklo" are estimated to be approximately 2 meters in length. Due to its small size, the explosive weight should reach up to 50 kg. If the weight exceeds this, the range will decrease. The model of the engine could not be identified.
The second important point is its appearance. "Peklo" is designed based on a reliable solution for the industrial production of jet aircraft — metallic, with rivets. It is also divided into several large parts, with the engine located externally — all of this facilitates the maintenance of the missile.
The fixed wing and V-tail are necessary for weight savings. A lighter missile flies further. Experts suggest that the navigation system could be inertial, satellite, or terrain-relative compared to a sample.
Earlier, "Telegraf" reported on another product that was also classified as a "rocket-drone" for Ukrainians — the "Palyanitsa". It may have a turbojet engine and a speed of up to 900 km/h.
