A man on a business trip received a summons. Is this a valid reason to miss his appointment at the military recruitment center?

A summons issued in Ukraine to a man who is currently on a business trip or whose work travel coincides with the scheduled date to appear at the Territorial Recruitment Center (TCC) is considered valid. If the individual fails to appear at the required time, they will be reported as wanted.

Such a summons can only be canceled if the man appears at the TCC on the designated date. This was reported by lawyer Yekaterina Anishchenko from the legal firm "Riyako&Partners," as conveyed by "RBK-Ukraine."

"Any other options to not appear, even if a person has a deferment, are associated with the risk of the individual being declared wanted in the future. This is because the information will show in the Reserve+ application that there is a violation of military registration rules.", she explained.

If the date to appear at the TCC coincides with the period of a business trip, the man must notify the TCC in advance that he will be unable to attend.

Additionally, there are instances where the employer may receive the summons, indicating the date the employee, currently on a business trip, is required to appear at the military enlistment office. In such cases, the employer must inform the TCC in advance that the man will not be able to show up.

"If a person learns about receiving a summons while on a business trip, they should obtain the order for the trip, and it is advisable to also obtain the employment order. They should then personally present these documents at the TCC to mitigate any potential consequences for failing to appear due to the summons.", she concluded.

As a reminder, "Telegraph" previously reported on the potential fines a man could face for failing to appear for the summons.
