The warm winter is gradually retreating from Ukraine, making way for freezing temperatures. Starting January 12, most regions are expecting temperatures to drop to -6 degrees along with precipitation.
This is confirmed by data from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center. It is noted that on Sunday, January 12, the skies in most regions will be overcast.
In the western part of the country, forecasters predict a drop in temperature to -4 degrees at night and 1 degree during the day. Moderate cloudiness with light snow is expected. The northern regions of Ukraine will also experience snow and freezing temperatures on January 12. During the day, the thermometer will show between +1 and -1 degrees, while at night it will range from -2 to -4 degrees. The same conditions are expected in the capital of Ukraine.
In the eastern regions, fog will occasionally prevail, but no precipitation is forecasted. During the day, temperatures will reach +4 degrees, while at night they will drop to -2 degrees. The central regions will see moderate cloud cover with some clearing and light rain. Throughout the day, temperatures will fluctuate between -4 and +2 degrees.
In the southern part of the country, despite daytime temperatures reaching up to +5 degrees, nighttime will bring frost down to -4 degrees. Throughout the day, the skies will be intermittently clouded. Forecasters predict light rain.
It is important to note that on January 12, a meteorological warning has been issued in Ukraine.
"In Ukraine, except for the southern, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kirovohrad regions, there is ice on the roads (I level of danger, yellow)," the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center notes.
Let us remind you that rescuers in the Carpathians reported the danger to tourists.
