The Finance Minister of Ukraine, Serhiy Marchenko, stated that if the newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump halts aid to Kyiv, the resources will be sufficient to resist Russia at least until mid-2025. There will also be enough weapons for that period.

He mentioned this in an interview with the Spanish newspaper El Pais. The minister emphasized that Ukraine is currently receiving funds and military equipment from the United States, and Kyiv must use this time "very wisely" to conduct necessary negotiations with our key allies in the United States.

"I believe that we have enough resources, enough weapons, missiles, and artillery shells to withstand at least in the first half of 2025. We will allocate sufficient budgetary appropriations for the procurement of necessary ammunition and military equipment in 2025. For now, we are receiving the required armaments from the United States. This means that, at least in the first half of the year and the following period, we will be well-prepared to counter this aggression," the minister said in response to a question about what would happen if Trump stopped supporting Kyiv.

Marchenko added that the situation on the battlefield now differs from last year. Drones play an even greater role now.

"The government's plan for 2024 is to produce over a million drones in Ukraine. A typical modern war has two key dimensions: technological competence and the people who fight using these technologies. This is a new war, and we are trying to combine different types of operational capabilities. The key requirement from our Ministry of Defense to the Ministry of Finance right now is to provide additional funds to be able to purchase the necessary drones. Drones are their number one request," the finance minister stated.

As reported by "Telegraph," Donald Trump shared his insights from a conversation with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in Paris, where the heads of state met at the inauguration ceremony of Notre-Dame. Trump stated that he is "shaping a concept" for implementing his plans for a swift end to the war.
