Valentine's Day by candlelight — such a "romantic" atmosphere may await Ukrainians due to power outages. As warned by energy officials, the freezing temperatures of -10°C, which have been gripping Ukraine for many nights, could trigger this situation.
According to meteorological forecasts, on the night of February 13-14, the air temperature in most regions of Ukraine will drop below -10°C. Meteorologists from UkrHydrometCenter caution that on Valentine's night, Kharkiv and Luhansk regions will experience more severe frost. However, during the day, temperatures will stabilize above freezing, with southern Ukraine reaching up to 7 degrees Celsius.
The night of February 14-15 will once again be cold. A new wave of frost, as warned by the well-known forecaster Natalia Didenko, will arrive in Ukraine from the west. The western regions will be significantly affected by the cold. Overnight, thermometer readings in Volyn, Ternopil, Lviv, Rivne, and Prykarpattia will drop again to -9°C.
As a reminder, energy officials have warned that with sustained temperatures of -10 to -15 degrees, Ukrainians may face scheduled power outages.
