Individuals may have the right to receive a subsidy, but a subsidy is granted only when the mandatory payment is lower than the amount calculated according to the regulations.
Will a family with an income of 20,000 hryvnias qualify for a subsidy?

Families are entitled to receive subsidies if the amount they have to pay for housing and communal services exceeds the established mandatory payment for them. Additionally, the household must meet certain conditions, such as not having new cars, high expenses, or deposits among its members.

The subsidy for housing and communal services is calculated as the difference between the cost of services within social norms and standards and the amount of the mandatory payment. The amount of the mandatory payment is determined individually for each household and depends on the average monthly income of one family member.

Assuming that the family has two adults with a monthly income of 10,000 UAH and one minor child, the calculation would be as follows:

20,000/3 (number of people)/2,920 (subsistence minimum)/2 * 15 = 17% - the family's mandatory payment.

To convert the amount into hryvnias, you need to multiply the obtained percentage by the monthly income. 20,000 * 17% = 3,400 UAH.

If the total charges for communal services within social norms exceed this amount (let’s say it is 3,800 UAH), then the difference is the amount of the subsidy.

3,800 - 3,400 = 400 UAH - the subsidy amount.

Important: Social standards are uniform across the country; however, the final cost of communal services depends on the cost of their provision in each specific locality.

Previously, "Telegraph" calculated an approximate subsidy amount for a family of pensioners with a minimum pension and a family with an income of 10,000 UAH. However, it should be noted that the final amount is calculated individually at the Pension Fund.
