A drug-addicted resident of Dnipropetrovsk, along with his partner, planned a terrorist attack in the Kyiv region.

Two mercenaries were preparing to carry out a terrorist attack using explosives in the Fastiv district. The individuals were set to create an improvised explosive device for the purpose of detonating military recruitment centers and other government institutions.

This was reported by the National Police press service.

During operational search activities, it was established that the offenders had stored a significant amount of explosive substances at their residence in the Obukhiv region, which they had independently manufactured at the request of Russian special services.

Both individuals were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. They turned out to be a 27-year-old resident of the Dnipropetrovsk region and his peer from Kyiv region.

Currently, the offenders have been notified of suspicion regarding preparation for committing a terrorist act by a group of individuals in conspiracy, as well as the illegal production of explosive substances and explosive devices (Part 1 of Article 14, Part 2 of Article 258, Part 2 of Article 263-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). They face up to 12 years of imprisonment.
