In Ukraine, all military personnel can receive free primary legal assistance. This was emphasized by the Ministry of Justice.
Primary legal assistance includes the following types of legal services: providing legal information; offering consultations and clarifications on legal issues; drafting statements, complaints, and other legal documents (excluding procedural documents); assisting individuals in gaining access to secondary legal assistance and mediation.
If necessary, support is provided for obtaining the status of a combatant (UBD).
War veterans are also entitled to free secondary assistance: legal representation; representing the interests of individuals entitled to free secondary legal assistance in courts, other state bodies, local self-government bodies, and before other parties; drafting procedural documents.
Currently, there are consulting points for accessing free legal assistance in various institutions: within military units, recruitment offices, hospitals, veteran spaces, public and charitable organizations that protect the rights and interests of this category of individuals, and other establishments.
At these access points, military personnel can receive free primary legal assistance.
Such access points operate in hospitals in the Zakarpattia, Lviv, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Chernihiv, and Cherkasy regions.
Additionally, military personnel can seek free legal assistance during the operation of consulting points located in the premises of CNAPs, rural and settlement councils, territorial communities, and specialized institutions supporting veterans, etc.
