A 33-year-old man is set to stand trial in the Lviv region for establishing an illegal trade in firearms and ammunition through a specialized website. This information comes from the Lviv regional prosecutor's office.
It has been determined that the accused organized the illegal processing and sale of firearms and ammunition in the Stryi district during the summer of this year.
To achieve this, he posted an advertisement for the sale of "goods" on a specialized website. After receiving payment to his card, the man discreetly sent the order to the "client" by mail under a fictitious name on two occasions.
As a result, it has been documented that the individual sent over 250 cartridges and a firearm (a blank-firing pistol converted into a "combat" weapon) to a resident of the Stryi area via parcels.
During searches conducted at the man's residence, a batch of ammunition ready for sale was discovered and seized.
Prosecutors from the Stryi District Prosecutor's Office have submitted an indictment to the court regarding the man. He is charged with the possession of ammunition, the sale of firearms and ammunition, as well as the manufacturing of ammunition and the conversion of firearms (Part 1 of Article 263, Parts 1 and 2 of Article 263-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
