Hungary will deploy air defense systems in the eastern part of the country following Ukraine's permission to strike deep into Russia with Western weapons, according to the minister.

The Hungarian Minister of Defense Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky has ordered the deployment of air defense systems in the northeast of the country due to concerns about the escalation of the Russia-Ukraine war after Kyiv was granted permission to strike deep into Russia with Western weapons, writes Telex.

The Hungarian defense minister stated that the scale of the Russia-Ukraine war is currently "greater than ever, and the conflict has entered its most dangerous phase."

He linked this to the lifting of long-range restrictions for Ukraine and Vladimir Putin's announcement of an updated nuclear doctrine.

Recall that on November 17, it was reported that Joe Biden permitted Ukraine to use American long-range missiles, known as ATACMS, to strike Russian and North Korean forces. The weapons will be used, in particular, to protect Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region in western Russia.

Additionally, the U.S. has allowed Ukraine to use British Storm Shadow missiles for strikes deep into Russia.
