The acting administrator of the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), associated with Elon Musk, is Amy Gleason. This was reported by the newspaper The Washington Post, citing an unnamed source in the White House.
It is known that Gleason worked as a digital services specialist in the U.S. Digital Technology Service during the first term of Donald Trump, which was the formal predecessor of DOGE, upon which the agency was established. Later, she held the position of product director at the medical company Russell Street Ventures, founded by entrepreneur Brad Smith, who is a consultant for DOGE.
Gleason herself declined to comment on her appointment as the acting administrator of DOGE, reports CBS News.
Earlier, American media, citing court documents, noted that Elon Musk is not an employee of DOGE and does not formally have authority over it.
White House Press Secretary Caroline Livitt stated in response to reporters' questions that she would not “disclose from the podium” the name of the DOGE leader. At the same time, she confirmed that Elon Musk would participate in a U.S. government meeting on February 26, which “the entire administration” would attend.
As reported by the media, Musk is a “special government employee” and a senior advisor to the President of the United States.
It was previously reported that Elon Musk demanded reports on work from federal employees in the U.S. The lack of response will be considered as resignation.
