In the Rivne region, a woman will face trial for smuggling chemicals disguised as laundry detergent.

A woman is set to stand trial in the Rivne region for smuggling precursors into Ukraine disguised as laundry detergent. This information comes from the regional prosecutor's office.

The woman, who had previously been convicted for the illegal transportation of prohibited substances, decided to engage in smuggling once again. With a supplier in Egypt, she organized the delivery of a batch of precursors through Italy to Ukraine, where the goods were to be collected by her client in the Rivne region. For this operation, the perpetrator received over 400,000 UAH and 1,800 USD.

She handed over several bags containing products and laundry detergent to a private courier.

The client picked up the delivery within Ukraine. Thanks to law enforcement, more than 13 kg of smuggled pseudoephedrine, disguised as household chemicals, did not enter circulation.

The smuggler was arrested in March of this year when she arrived in Rivne to collect an advance from her client for the subsequent supply of precursors. She is currently in custody.

For her illegal activities, the woman faces a prison sentence of 10 to 12 years with the confiscation of property.
