Emergency power outages have been implemented in certain regions of Ukraine. What led to this situation?

Emergency power outages have been implemented in several regions of Ukraine. By order of NEC "Ukrenergo" and DTEK, due to a suspected massive rocket attack across Ukraine, temporary electricity supply restrictions are in effect in Sumy, Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, and Cherkasy regions, among others.

Emergency measures have also affected Mykolaiv region, where energy workers had to activate four queues of emergency shutdown schedules. This was reported by the press service of JSC "Mykolaivoblenergo."

"By the command of NEC "Ukrenergo," emergency power outages have been implemented in Zhytomyr region!" — report specialists from "Zhytomyroblenergo" on social media.

"Emergency power outages are being introduced in Ukraine due to the threat of attacks on the energy sector," — informs Suspilne. This includes Kyiv as well. It is also already known that emergency power outages have been implemented in Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, and Kharkiv regions.

Energy workers are forced to resort to such preventive power outages to prevent serious consequences from attacks on the energy sector. It should be noted that "Ukrenergo" has not yet commented on which regions are facing restrictions.

As the energy company YASNO states, "Ukrenergo" is implementing emergency outages due to the threat of missile strikes. The KMVA (Kyiv Military City Administration) also reported that the power outages are preventive. "Due to the threat of a missile strike, emergency electricity shutdown schedules have been introduced in Kyiv. This is a preventive measure. Stay calm! Take care of your safety," — says Serhiy Popko, head of KMVA.

Earlier, Telegraf reported that there may be no electricity in Ukraine for up to 20 hours in winter. Some regions are under serious threat.
