In Kryvyi Rih, the heating in homes cannot be turned on due to mobilization efforts.

Due to mobilization, there is a shortage of skilled personnel, and this lack of qualified workers has also been felt by the contracting organizations involved in the repair campaign, as stated by Krivorozhteplocentral.
In Kryvyi Rih, the heating in homes cannot be turned on due to mobilization efforts.

The situation with the heating season in Kryvyi Rih remains difficult. Currently, nearly a thousand homes in the city are without heating, affecting 130,000 subscribers, 11 hospitals, and 43 educational institutions.

The Kryvyi Rih Heating Plant explained the reasons for the challenging heating situation:

  • In March 2024, the accounts of the Kryvyi Rih Thermal Power Plant were frozen due to multi-million debts accrued since 1998. The account freeze hindered timely repair work;
  • Due to mobilization efforts, the company is facing a shortage of qualified personnel, and subcontractors involved in the repair campaign are also feeling the staff shortage;
  • In the summer of 2023, Russians destroyed the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station, which deprived the thermal networks of water for an extended period. Corrosion has damaged the already worn-out pipes;
  • Shelling of the city's critical infrastructure leads to hydraulic shocks that are devastating to the damaged networks.

"Despite all of the above, the Kryvyi Rih Thermal Power Plant is taking all necessary measures around the clock to provide heat to consumers," the company stated.

As previously reported, the Ministry of Community and Territory Development announced a critical situation regarding the heating season in Kryvyi Rih.

The Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine – the Minister of Community and Territory Development Aleksey Kuleba stated that they plan to resume heating by December 8.
