In the Kyiv region, a man attempted to disassemble a hunting rifle and accidentally shot a woman.

In the Kyiv region, in the Obukhiv district, a 67-year-old man fired a shot at his common-law wife, hitting her in the shoulder and jaw. This was reported by the regional police.

The law enforcement officers established that in Bohuslav, the man found a hunting rifle and brought it to his residence. During an attempt to disassemble the weapon, a shot was fired.

As a result of the gunshot wound, the 57-year-old woman sustained serious bodily injuries and was hospitalized.

The police detained the offender under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed him in a temporary detention facility. Evidence has been seized.

Investigators informed the suspect of the charges related to careless causing of serious bodily injury (Article 128 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
