A 23-year-old resident of Kyiv region has been charged with hooliganism after launching fireworks in the Sviatoshyn district of Kyiv on November 12, 2024. The incident occurred around 7:30 PM at an unfinished construction site on Academician Yefremov Street.
According to the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, the suspect, while under the influence of alcohol, found a package of pyrotechnics in trash bins and decided to use them. His actions violated the ban on the use of pyrotechnics during martial law and raised concerns among residents of nearby buildings.
The young man has been charged under Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism), which carries a penalty of up to 5 years of restriction of freedom.
