Air quality in Kyiv has worsened as the city is engulfed in dust.

In two districts of Kyiv, elevated concentrations of suspended particles in the air have been recorded, which may affect the health of residents. This was reported by the Kyiv City Military Administration.

As explained by the KCMO, the temporary deterioration of air quality on the left bank may be due to meteorological conditions, particularly low wind speeds. Therefore, if you have an air purifier, it is advisable to set it to maximum.

According to stationary air quality monitoring stations, the pollution levels are as follows:

  • 64-H European Union Avenue - overall air quality index (CAQI) - 39 (low pollution level).
  • 20 Shchuseva Street - CAQI - 48 (low level).
  • 28 Turivska Street - CAQI - 18 (low level).
  • 97 Berestyansky Avenue - CAQI - 31 (low level).
  • 22 Kytaivska Street - CAQI - 35 (low level).
  • 7/1 Kharkiv Highway - CAQI - 82 (high level).
  • 26 Architect Verbitsky Street - CAQI - 77 (high level).

The lower the CAQI score, the better the air quality. High readings on Kharkiv Highway and Architect Verbitsky Street indicate a dangerous level of pollution.

Medical recommendations:

  • Avoid being outdoors unless necessary and keep windows closed.
  • Avoid physical exertion outside.
  • Drink more water to stay hydrated.

Capital residents are advised to monitor updates on air quality data to take timely measures for their health.
