On the night of February 1st, a series of explosions were heard in Kyiv. The capital was responding to an attack by Russian strike drones attempting to target the city, with the threat neutralized by air defense systems.
This was reported by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachенко. Prior to this, a correspondent from "Telegraph" reported explosions in the suburbs of Kyiv, where a drone was trying to breach into the capital.
"Explosions are heard! Stay away from the windows!", Tkachенко reported.
According to monitoring channels, one UAV managed to penetrate Kyiv, another was near Boryspil and was likely destroyed by mobile fire groups. Another drone was wandering around the Kyiv region. The consequences of repelling the invaders' attack remain unknown.
It is noteworthy that on the night of February 1st, amidst a large-scale drone strike, Russian occupiers attacked several Ukrainian regions with cruise and ballistic missiles. In particular, the Poltava, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions were under fire, as well as Odesa for the second time in recent hours.
Recall that on the evening of Friday, January 31st, Russians shelled the historic center of Odesa with ballistic missiles. Powerful explosions occurred near the famous "Bristol" hotel. Preliminary reports indicate that Russian occupiers launched three "Iskander-M" missiles at the civilian population from temporarily occupied Crimea, one of which was a cluster munition.
