The President of France Emmanuel Macron and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer have aligned their positions on supporting Ukraine ahead of their visit to the United States. This is reported by The Times.

They are preparing a "single message to Ukraine" for the U.S. President.

In particular, during their meeting with Donald Trump, the European leaders will attempt to persuade him not to engage in bilateral peace negotiations with Russia in exchange for European commitments to ensure Ukraine's security in the future.

According to Politico, Macron's proposals to Trump likely include the deployment of European peacekeeping forces in Ukraine should an agreement on a ceasefire with Russia be reached.

"This involves a European contribution of around 30,000 troops, with the UK and France taking a leading role," said an EU diplomat.

The British and French leaders will hold meetings with the U.S. President.

Starmer will meet with Trump on Thursday, February 27, while Macron will meet on Monday, February 24.
