The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has established an Interagency Working Group to coordinate the implementation of the Maritime Security Strategy, approving its regulations and composition. This group will unite the efforts of state institutions and experts for the comprehensive realization of maritime security policy. This is reported by the Ministry of Defense.

The main tasks of the group include:

  • developing a monitoring procedure for the Strategy and providing suggestions for its improvement;
  • analyzing issues in the field of maritime security and developing solutions;
  • preparing proposals to enhance legislation;
  • coordinating the work of state bodies, institutions, and organizations.

The group will have the authority to organize expert discussions, engage specialists, and analyze the implementation of the Strategy. In addition to representatives from state bodies, local authorities and independent experts will also be involved in the work. Special attention will be given to international cooperation and the exchange of experiences with leading maritime nations.

The Ministry of Defense will coordinate the group's work. The establishment of the group was carried out in accordance with the decision of the National Security and Defense Council dated July 17, 2024, approved by Presidential Decree No. 468/2024 of Ukraine. Meetings will be held quarterly, with the possibility of online format for prompt response.
