Both sides pay a heavy price in war and must make concessions, stated U.S. Secretary of State Rubio.

The U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio reiterated that the war in Ukraine must end through negotiations, with both sides needing to make concessions. He stated this during a conversation with journalist Megyn Kelly.

He emphasized that the situation has escalated into a protracted war, which is even worse, as Ukraine continues to lose territory, a fact he believes even Democrats should acknowledge.

Rubio remarked that what Putin has done is horrific, but in the Secretary's view, the U.S. and the West have also made mistakes in this conflict.

“It is wrong that we somehow led people to believe that Ukraine could defeat Russia and push everything back to the state it was in 2012 or 2014, when Russia annexed Crimea,” said the U.S. Secretary of State.

However, according to him, this has resulted in a situation where, for the last year and a half, the focus has been on funding a prolonged war.

“Both sides are paying a terrible price in this conflict, and both sides understand that they will not achieve their maximalist goals and significant work needs to be done. And only with the United States under President Trump’s leadership can this be possible.

This will not be easy and will require some time, but I know he is determined to achieve this,” Rubio added.

Earlier, the new U.S. Secretary of State Mark Rubio stated that ending the war between Russia and Ukraine will become the official policy of the Donald Trump administration.

Additionally, Trump called on Russia to stop the war against Ukraine.
