The National Bank has prepared a draft Regulation on the operation of the NBU electronic system and the functioning of the banking system of Ukraine during the end of the reporting year. The draft resolution was published on the official NBU website.
According to the document released for discussion, the following operating mode is proposed:
December 31, 2024
The NBU electronic payment system (SEP) will operate continuously, 24/7, with the date reflecting the current calendar day, in accordance with the established Technological Regulation.
Foreign currency payments from the State Treasury Service through the NBU and Ukreximbank will be processed until 16:00.
Clearing and settlements in the Central Router system and the clearing and settlement center of the National Payment System "Ukrainian Payment Space" ("SPACE") will proceed as usual.
The quantitative accounting system for deposit certificates CERTIF, the NBU depository, as well as the automated information system of the NBU for credit agreements with non-residents and the currency market of Ukraine will operate in the usual manner.
January 1, 2025
SEP will continue to operate continuously, in a 24/7 mode with the current date.
The entire banking system of Ukraine will function as normal.
The CERTIF system, the NBU depository, the automated information system for credit agreements with non-residents, the currency market, as well as clearing and settlements in the "SPACE" system among participants will continue to operate in standard mode.
During the martial law in Ukraine, a number of provisions of labor legislation have been suspended. In particular, public holidays no longer entail the transfer of a day off, even if the holiday falls on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday).
The National Bank's electronic payment system (SEP) operates seamlessly 24/7/365, providing banks with the ability to conduct payments around the clock and without weekends, depending on the needs of clients and banking institutions.
