Member of Parliament from the "Servant of the People" party Oleksandr Merezhko has nominated the newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. This decision by the MP is mentioned in his letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, as reported by Kyiv Independent.

In his letter, Merezhko emphasized that he is convinced that "Trump has made a significant contribution to peace worldwide and that he can do even more in the future."

The MP highlighted Trump's role in facilitating agreements between Israel and Muslim countries, particularly the UAE, Bahrain, and Sudan, during his first presidential term.

The letter notes that during his presidency, Trump initiated the supply of Javelin anti-tank systems to Ukraine, enhancing its defense capabilities.
