A state registrar in Bukovina will face trial due to negligence that resulted in the loss of over 100 hectares of state land. This information comes from the Chernivtsi regional prosecutor's office.

According to the investigation, in 2022, the state registrar illegally registered the transfer of two land plots, which were in the permanent use of the state breeding testing station, from state to communal ownership.

It was established that the suspect conducted registration actions without verifying the documents for legal grounds to change the ownership status of the land plots, and without the appropriate decision from the land manager or an act of acceptance and transfer of the land plots.

Due to this negligence, over 100 hectares of land in the Dniester district of Chernivtsi region were lost from state ownership, valued at approximately 7 million UAH.

During the pre-trial investigation, the land was returned to state ownership.
