Mexico is implementing a "Plan B" in response to the import tariffs announced by Donald Trump.

As reported by the “Judicial and Legal Newspaper”, Donald Trump has imposed tariffs on imports from Canada, Mexico, and China. Now, importers will face a new 25% tax on goods from Canada and Mexico, as well as a 10% levy on products from China.

In response, Canada is implementing 25% tariffs on a wide range of American goods, while China has criticized this policy and announced “countermeasures.”

Regarding Mexico's reaction, President Claudia Sheinbaum also announced retaliatory measures. On social media platform X, she stated that she is assigning the Minister of Economy to “execute Plan B, which includes tariff and non-tariff measures to protect Mexico’s interests.” She did not disclose further details of the plan.

According to Sheinbaum, issues are resolved not through the imposition of tariffs but through conversations and dialogue.
