The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, suggested that the war between Russia and Ukraine might reach a ceasefire in the near future. He shared his views during an interview with Fox News, writes the French newspaper Le Monde.

Emmanuel Macron welcomed Donald Trump's statement regarding the potential visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the White House and outlined a process that he believes could lead to a ceasefire.

“The pattern should be as follows: negotiations between the United States and Russia, and between the United States and Ukraine,” he stated in English. “First, there needs to be a ceasefire. I think this could be achieved in the coming weeks,” the French leader continued. “If it is not respected, that will be the best proof that Russia is not serious,” he added.

The President of France asserted that he is “convinced that there is a solution” to end the war.
