Macron on lifting the ban on ATACMS strikes deep into Russia: It's the right decision.

The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, stated that the President of the United States, Joe Biden, made the "right decision" by granting permission for Ukraine to use ATACMS missiles to strike deep into Russian territory, as reported by Politico.

He added that Biden took this step in response to Russia choosing a path of further escalation of the war against Ukraine by deciding to involve North Korean troops.

"Russia is the only state that has made the decision to escalate... this break has led to the U.S. decision," the French president told reporters in the sidelines of the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro.

It is worth noting that the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, previously stated that the U.S. allowed Ukraine to launch strikes on Russian territory up to 300 kilometers deep.

Additionally, Biden avoided giving a direct answer regarding permission for Ukraine to strike Russia with ATACMS missiles.
