EU leaders will discuss appointing a representative for potential negotiations regarding the ongoing war in Ukraine.

On March 6, European Union leaders will convene to discuss the appointment of a special envoy to represent the EU in potential negotiations aimed at ending the war in Ukraine. This is reported by Bloomberg.

The publication notes that several European leaders have previously called for the establishment of such a position after the U.S. surprised Europe with a direct conversation with Putin, excluding Europe from the negotiations.

President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, has summoned EU member states for an emergency summit on March 6. Participants will address issues related to Ukrainian and European security.

According to Bloomberg, discussions at the summit will focus on developing a unified defense position for both the rearmament of the European continent and Ukraine. The talks will also cover the appointment of a special representative to participate in the upcoming negotiations regarding Ukraine.
