Winter in Ukraine is gradually beginning to wane – warmer temperatures are on the horizon. Meteorologists predict that starting from February 25, Ukrainians will feel the first signs of spring thaw.
Currently, an anticyclone has settled over the country, bringing dry and frosty weather. This was reported by well-known meteorologist Natalia Didenko wrote on her social media.
According to experts’ forecasts, the easing of frost and gradual increase in air temperature will commence next week when warmer air masses from the west begin to flow into Ukraine. In the coming days, predominantly dry weather without precipitation will prevail due to the influence of the anticyclone. The only exception will be in the eastern part of the country, where snow is expected on Sunday, February 23.
A similar forecast was provided by meteorologist Natalia Ptukha. She stated that a change in the synoptic situation will occur at the beginning of next week. She clarified that daytime temperatures may soon rise above zero. The increase in temperature will lead to the gradual melting of the snow cover in certain regions of Ukraine.
Despite the upcoming warmth, Ukrainians will have to endure the cold this weekend. Nighttime temperatures will drop to -10...-17 degrees, while during the day, most regions will see fluctuations between -2...-7 degrees.
In the western regions, it will be significantly warmer – ranging from -1 frost to +5 degrees Celsius.
Residents of the capital should prepare for cold weekends. In Kyiv, no precipitation is expected on February 22 and 23. Nighttime temperatures will decrease to -12...-14 degrees, while daytime temperatures will hover around -2...-4 degrees.
Recall that earlier "Telegraph" reported on what the weather in Ukraine will be like in early March. Meteorologists shared what to expect from the weather at the beginning of spring.
