Colombia has agreed to accept deported migrants from the U.S., and Trump will not impose tariffs, according to the White House.

Colombia has agreed to all the conditions set by U.S. President Donald Trump. Specifically, the country has consented to the unlimited acceptance of all illegal migrants from Colombia returning from the United States. This was reported by CNN citing a statement from White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt.

In response, President Donald Trump will not impose a 25% tariff on the country, "if Colombia fulfills this agreement."

“The Colombian government has agreed to all of President Trump’s conditions, including the unlimited acceptance of all illegal migrants from Colombia returning from the United States, including on U.S. military aircraft, without restrictions or delays,” the statement noted.

In this regard, the Trump administration has suspended the implementation of new tariffs and sanctions against Colombia.

Levitt stated that tariffs and financial sanctions will be paused, but visa sanctions against Colombian officials and stricter customs checks on Colombian citizens and cargo vessels will remain in effect “until the first plane with Colombian deportees is successfully returned.”

It is worth noting that the conflict began after American authorities sent two military planes with Colombian citizens as part of a deportation program.

In response, the American president Donald Trump imposed a 25% tariff on all goods coming into the U.S. from Colombia.
