Elon Musk met with the Iranian ambassador to the UN on Monday in New York. Two Iranian officials described the meeting as a discussion on how to ease tensions between Iran and the United States. This was reported by The New York Times.

The Iranians stated that the meeting between Musk and Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani lasted over an hour and took place in a secret location.

Iranians, speaking on condition of anonymity, referred to the meeting as "positive" and "good news."

In response to a question about whether such a meeting took place, Stephen Cheng, the communications director for Mr. Trump, stated: "We do not comment on reports of private meetings that may or may not have occurred."

It is worth noting that Elon Musk led the Office of Government Efficiency in the Trump administration, which is responsible for evaluating federal officials. Additionally, The Judicial and Legal Newspaper wrote about the functions of Elon Musk's Office of Efficiency and what status it might hold.
