Former ICE chief Tom Homan will oversee U.S. borders in the Trump administration.

The elected President of the United States Donald Trump announced that former Acting Director of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Tom Homan will be responsible for border control in his new administration. According to Trump, Homan will hold the title of "Border Czar," overseeing the security of both the southern and northern borders, as well as maritime and aviation safety. This was reported by Arab News.

Homan, who served in Trump's previous administration, is also being considered as a candidate for the position of Secretary of Homeland Security. Throughout his campaign, Trump repeatedly emphasized the importance of combating illegal immigration, promising to increase deportations. Homan has often voiced support for these initiatives and has received Trump's endorsement.

Trump's meetings with potential candidates for key positions are ongoing as part of the preparations for the inauguration scheduled for January 20.
