As is known, the session of the Verkhovna Rada was canceled due to the threat of a missile strike.
Members of various factions stated that the parliamentary meeting scheduled for November 22 was called off due to the potential risk of shelling in the government quarter, reports "Suspilne".
“The threat of a missile attack has increased. Therefore, not only was the decision made to cancel the session, but all Rada services and committee secretariats are also not operating today. Additionally, the number of people in the Cabinet, OP and other government agencies in that area has been minimized,” said MP Nikita Poturayev.
He also mentioned that local residents and those with offices in the government quarter were warned about the danger.
According to him, the overall goal is to reduce the number of people in the potentially hazardous area.
“The decision was made by the authorities responsible for security based on intelligence information regarding the threat of a missile strike in this area, so the heightened security measures apply not only to the Rada but also to everyone who works and lives there,” the MP stated.
In turn, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak added that the session was canceled due to information regarding the likelihood of shelling.
“This does not mean that they will happen, it’s just a warning, and since nothing significant was scheduled for Friday, it was moved to the next plenary week. Although some consider the Rada to be the center of decision-making,” he said.
