After 1000 days of conflict, Volodymyr Zelensky will address the European Parliament.

On Tuesday, November 19, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will address the members of the European Parliament. The address from the Head of State will take place online at 12:00 during a special plenary session of the European Parliament dedicated to the 1000 days of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

“At the beginning of the extraordinary session, European Parliament President Roberta Metsola will make a statement, after which President Zelensky will speak to the members of the European Parliament via live video link from Ukraine. Following that, leaders of political groups will take the floor,” the press release states.

It is noted that since Russia commenced its full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the EU and the parliament have firmly supported the country, condemning Russia's aggression, imposing sanctions, and increasing their political, humanitarian, military, and financial assistance to Kyiv.

“The Parliament has also strongly backed Ukraine's efforts to join the EU and has repeatedly called on EU member states to initiate accession negotiations. Furthermore, Members of the European Parliament have firmly stated that Russia should pay financial compensation for the destruction it has caused to Ukraine, asserting that the EU should use confiscated state assets from Moscow to facilitate this,” emphasized the EP.
