The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has submitted draft laws to the Verkhovna Rada to approve his decrees extending the duration of martial law in Ukraine and initiating a nationwide mobilization. Draft laws 12404 and 12405 have appeared on the official website of the parliament.

This legal regime is proposed to be extended for another 90 days, until May 9.

Previously, Member of Parliament Yaroslav Yurchyshyn stated that the cancellation of martial law in Ukraine after the cessation of hostilities will not be immediate, as reliable security guarantees are needed for this.
