The Ministry of Social Policy has reminded that candidates for adoption can take a child into their family before receiving a court decision on adoption.

Temporary placement of a child with prospective adoptive parents is possible if they:

▪ Have received a positive conclusion from the district or the Kyiv city state administration, or the executive body of the city or district council regarding the advisability of adoption and its alignment with the child's best interests.

▪ Have submitted an application to the court for the adoption of the child.

The agency added that this is established in the Procedure for the activities of guardianship and custody authorities related to the protection of children's rights (Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 866 dated September 24, 2008).
