The State Bureau of Investigations has reported suspicions against a city council deputy from Kirovohrad and his accomplices in a scheme involving the supply of substandard clothing for military use. This information was shared by the SBI.
According to the investigation, the official, who also owns a business, along with an acquaintance and an accountant, organized the procurement of cheap clothing lacking compliance certificates from the Ministry of Defense. Visually, the goods resembled military attire, but they did not meet the required standards. As a result of this deal, the state incurred damages exceeding 21 million hryvnias.
The deputy and his accomplices are suspected of misappropriating property, committing service forgery, and abusing their official position as part of an organized group. The penalties for these offenses can lead to up to 12 years in prison, along with confiscation of property. The investigation is ongoing.
